Tom Katt (a.k.a. Thom Katt, Thom Payne, Thomas Payne, Tom Payne; born David Papaleo, 21 January 1970, in Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America) is an American pornographic actor, bodybuilder, personal trainer and adult model.

Biography

Born in suburban Atlanta to an Italo-French family, Tom moved to rural Massachusetts at age 4 after his parents' divorce, where his stepfather then murdered his mother when he was 11. Back with his biological father in Atlanta, Katt started managing his anger and trauma through weight lifting and bodybuilding, which he discovered at 16. After acting in porn for eleven years and becoming a notable figure in the business, Tom turned to Christianity as a way of coping and finding meaning in life, a task he thought the adult industry could not fulfill. From there on, Tom started studying the Bible, carried on lifting and competing, and married a woman in 2006.[1]

Pornographic Career

Tom was first scouted by Fox Studio in 1991, debuting as Thom Payne, and later went on to become an icon for the most influential gay pornographic studios of the 1990s (Catalina Video, Falcon, All World Videos, Studio 2000, among others). By the mid 90s, Katt had built a distinct personal image, dropping the leaner, smoother trends of the time in favor of the hairy bulky muscle aesthetic of the late 70s and early 80s. Despite topping occasionally later in his career, Tom was primarily known as a muscle bottom, and built a very fruitful career, starring in up to forty unique films before his retirement in 2003. Little is known of Tom following his retirement.

Bodybuilding Career

Starting at 16, Katt continued competing in bodybuilding tournaments throughout his porn career. He argued that adult films were one of the few professions that allowed and even encouraged a serious bodybuilding schedule, thanks to the flexible hours, high earnings, and similar physical preparation demands.
