Matt grew up in a Mormon household and spent some time as a missionary. After leaving the Church his life pretty much went on a downhill spiral. Matt received a DUI in 2013^[1]^[3]. He also aspired to be a model in Los Angeles which is likely how he got recruited to do gay porn.

Matt is one of five brothers, including Jim and Steven, and his father is Richard Bassi. His stepmother is Janet Bassi (nee Blankenship) and he has a step brother Thaddeus.
